Creating your Wedding Album

Designing your wedding album | Included in your album package is a beautiful fine art photo album:

Sweet Dreams Package –  10″ x 10″ square album or equivalent landscape size
30 pages (15 double page spreads)
Cover options – image wrap, linen, leather

Eternal Love Package – 12″ x 12″ square album or equivalent landscape size
40 pages (20 double page spreads)
Cover options – image wrap, linen, leather

The number of photos that can be incorporated into your photo book is somewhere between 60 – 80 and depends on the layout of each page. For example, on some pages I will use one photo to cover the entire page, on another I may use three or four photos to tell a story. I usually suggest we start with 60 photos and go from there. Extra pages can be added if needed (from $10 per page).

It can be difficult to choose the right pictures, especially when you can’t visualize how they will all go together in the book. If you are having any troubles I am more than happy to design the book with the images I think will look best and then pass on to you for any tweaking. It can be stressful and time consuming going through 800+ images to pick your favourites. Even if you would just like to choose a handful of favourites and I can fill in the gaps with what will work together and be visually pleasing.  If you would like to choose the images yourself here are some tips:

  • Listen to your heart. Don’t focus too much on the lists of the “50 Must-Have Photos in Your Album.” Instead, decide which photos remind you how you felt on your wedding day – the ones that best reflect your celebration, family, and love.
  • Pick the BEST images that tell the story of your day. Choose the clearest, most beautiful shots showcasing your favourite details from the day.
  • Save the majority of your posed family images for frames. Be sure to include a few portrait shots, but make your album come alive with candid images that capture the mood, DIY details, smiles, and sweet moments from your day.
  • Strike a balance between photos of people and details. You’ll love viewing an album composed of the faces AND details that made your wedding so special. Be sure to include pictures of the details you spent months preparing – from your “something blue” to the wine cork place cards.

Detail photos reveal a lot of information about the theme, mood, and appearance of your wedding day. Be sure to select related sets of detail pictures, so they can be grouped together in the book. If you choose one picture of a bouquet or centerpiece, and no other details, it’s difficult to find a place to put those pictures within the album.
